John J. Linehan

U.S. Veteran

John J. Linehan, the “self proclaimed mayor of the Southside”, who was born to Denis & Jenny Fitzpatrick Linehan on April 6, 1924 died Monday Feb. 10th at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII, member and former commander of Valley American Legion Post #1468. He was a 50+ year member and past president of Valley Men’s Club. He retired as a sign painter for the Electro-Ad Sign Company. He was predeceased by his wife Blanche in 1986 in addition to his parents, and 5 siblings. Surviving are his daughter, Susan Linehan (Alex Bortoff) of Fayetteville; 2 sons, John (Patricia) Linehan of Camillus, David (Susie) Linehan of Washington State; his grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Timothy, and Casey Linehan, Katie Anderson, Wendy Reeser, Laura Sorensen, Jason Pirodsky; 11 great grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday Feb. 13th from 4 to 7 PM at the Butler- Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Tpke. Spring interment Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
