O
ur Founder of Butler-Badman Funeral Home Inc., is the current owner today, John D. Badman. Our Funeral Home, here in Onondaga Hill, was founded December 1980. It all started in 1964 when John Badman came to Syracuse from Pennsylvania to go to Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science. After completing School he started working at the John G. Butler Funeral Home on 2104 South Salina St. For many years John Badman worked to gain the respect and trust of Syracuse's south side and surrounding areas. With John's strong work ethic, he became the owner of the Salina Street funeral home in 1979 and started planning a new facility that could handle his expanding business. In 1980, Butler-Badman Funeral Home was built. After a few years of running both funeral homes, the public response was so favorable on the Hill that John Badman decided to close the John G. Bulter funeral home and expand Butler-Badman by adding an addition, a casket selection building, enlarge the parking areas and making the Funeral Home the multi-service, handicapped accessible facility that it is today.
